Living Food: Sprouted seeds and lentils are bursting with life!

We sell our sprouting blends--red lentils and "stir fry blend" of mung beans, garbanzo beans, red lentils, and green lentils--in sealed foil airtight bags of 1 lb each.

These need to be soaked in order to awaken them from their dormant state; generally this takes about 2-3 days.  Just pour about 1/3 - 1/2 of the 1 lb bag into a pot or bowl, then cover the seeds and beans with water.  Leave them completely submerged for about 24 hours, then keep them near the sink either in a bowl or colander so that they can be rinsed 1-3 times per day to rehydrate them until they sprout.

Once they sprout, add them to salads or sandwiches, or just eat them plain or with a little bit of vinegar and/or olive oil.  Sprouts epitomize raw "living" foods and are a great source of fiber, enzymes, and antioxidants.   Plus, they are crispy, crunchy, and delicious!
